Samuel Barber - Knoxville: Summer of 1915

Barber (1910-1981) was an American composer best remembered for his Adagio for strings. My favourite in his repertoire, and indeed one of my all-time favourite classical music compositions, is Knoxville: Summer of 1915 (1947), a setting for soprano and orchestra of a prose text by James Agee.
